The ERC Starting Grant Group was embedded in the DESY ATLAS group. The group participated in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. We used the dataset that was collected by the ATLAS experiment between 2015 and 2018 to measure differential cross sections to study in detail the properties of the Higgs boson. For these measurements, we used Higgs boson decays into two photons and into four leptons, which can be reconstructed with high efficiency and excellent resolution. The measurements were compared to theoretical predictions, and we performed a measurement of the Higgs boson Yukawa couplings from the differential distributions, and are still completing a search for contributions of effects of physics beyond the Standard Model. As part of these measurements, we contributed to the reconstruction of photons and electrons and the identification of photons at the ATLAS experiment.
Excellent candidates interested in Bachelor, Masters or PhD theses are welcome to contact me any time.
